92_SR0228 LRB9210740RHrhA 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Eugene and Betty Bravieri, who passed away on October 12, 5 2001; and 6 WHEREAS, Betty J. Bravieri was born in Geneva, Illinois 7 and raised in Chicago, where she graduated from Kelvyn Park 8 High School; she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Knox College 9 in Galesburg, Illinois, where she received a bachelor's 10 degree in music; and 11 WHEREAS, After marrying Eugene R. Bravieri in 1947 and 12 settling in Niles, Betty Bravieri taught music at St. John 13 Brebeuf School during the late 1950s and early 1960s; she 14 then spent nearly 20 years as a math teacher at St. Paul of 15 the Cross School, where she taught junior high until her 16 retirement in 1987; she was best known for her phrase, "Did 17 you ride the bus or did you bring your lunch to school 18 today?"; and 19 WHEREAS, Eugene R. Bravieri was born in Chicago, Illinois 20 and graduated from Schurtz High School; he served in the 21 infantry during World War II; he received a Silver Star and a 22 Purple Heart after being wounded in France; and 23 WHEREAS, After the war, Mr. Bravieri returned to Chicago 24 and began working as an insurance inspector for Jaspers 25 Reports in Chicago; he later became co-owner of the company 26 and changed the name to JBL Corp.; he retired in the late 27 1980s and moved to Wisconsin with his wife; and 28 WHEREAS, The passing of Eugene and Betty Bravieri will be 29 deeply felt by all who knew and loved them, especially their 30 children, Janice Glueckert and Richard Bravieri; their four 31 grandchildren; Mr. Bravieri's sister, Yvonne Klatt; and Mrs. -2- LRB9210740RHrhA 1 Bravieri's sister, Bernadine Yardley; therefore, be it 2 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 4 all who knew them, the death of Eugene and Betty Bravieri of 5 Wisconsin, formerly of Niles, Illinois; and be it further 6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 7 presented to the family of Eugene and Betty Bravieri with our 8 sincere condolences.
