92_SR0168 LRB9209066RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Curtis Nixon III, who passed away on May 7, 2001; and 5 WHEREAS, Curtis Nixon III was born on March 23, 1972 in 6 East St. Louis, Illinois to Curtis Nixon, Jr. and Alethea 7 Ballard; and 8 WHEREAS, Curtis Nixon III, the eldest of seven children, 9 received his education in the East St. Louis School System; 10 he was a graduate of Lincoln High School and attended 11 Oklahoma State University; and 12 WHEREAS, Curtis Nixon III enjoyed dancing and being with 13 his family and friends; he especially loved the company of 14 the young children in his family; and 15 WHEREAS, The passing of Curtis Nixon III will be deeply 16 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his mother, 17 Alethea Edwards; his stepfather, Thomas Edwards; his father, 18 Curtis (wife, Rayjean) Nixon, Jr.; his grandparents, Frances 19 Hammond and Curtis (wife, Vernell) Nixon, Sr.; his sisters, 20 Travaughnda Ballard, Sharhondia (husband, Tobia) McMillian, 21 Trinisha (husband, Anthony) Dean, and Sheri Travis; his 22 brothers, Quenton Ballard, Russell Pelly, and Mario Pelly; 23 his aunt, Denise Hammond; his friends, Tylesha and Etwon; and 24 a host of brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, 25 cousins, and other relatives and friends; therefore, be it 26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 28 all who knew him, the death of Curtis Nixon III of East St. 29 Louis, Illinois; and be it further 30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 31 presented to the family of Curtis Nixon III with our sincere -2- LRB9209066RHrh 1 condolences.
