1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate and Senator
3 Emil Jones wish to express their sincere condolences to the
4 family and friends of William (Billy) Anderson Patterson, who
5 passed away on March 26, 2001; and
6 WHEREAS, William Patterson, well known as Pat, was born
7 on September 23, 1938; his parents were the late Leanna and
8 Cumby Patterson, Jr.; and
9 WHEREAS, William Patterson grew up in Altgeld Gardens,
10 where he met and married Miss Bertha Roberts; together for
11 forty-two years they raised two wonderful children; and
12 WHEREAS, William Patterson was employed by the Cook
13 County Department of Corrections; and
14 WHEREAS, The passing of William Patterson will be deeply
15 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife,
16 Bertha; his children, Nena and Bill, Jr.; his brother, John
17 (wife, Donnie) Patterson; his grandsons, Carlos (wife, Shawn)
18 and Jeremy; his nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other
19 relatives, and many friends; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
21 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
22 his many family and friends, the passing of William Anderson
23 Patterson of Chicago, Illinois; and be it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to the family of William Patterson.
