92_SR0072 LRB9208285RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of John E. Alexander, Jr., who passed away on January 13, 5 2001; and 6 WHEREAS, John E. Alexander, Jr. was born on September 17, 7 1955, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to John Sr. and Mary 8 Alexander; he was a graduate of Marshall High School; and 9 WHEREAS, Mr. Alexander and his wife, Donna, owned the 10 Farmer's Toy Box in Marshall and he co-owned the former 11 Alexander Building and Supply of Marshall with his father; 12 and 13 WHEREAS, Mr. Alexander was a member of St. Mary's 14 Catholic Church of Marshall, a 3rd degree member of the 15 Knights of Columbus, a supporter of St. Mary's Youth Group, a 16 member and board member of Marshall Main Street, a member of 17 the Marshall Historical Preservation Committee, the 18 co-chairman of the Design Committee of the Marshall Main 19 Street, a former board member of the Vigo County Heart 20 Association, and a member of the Clark County Heart 21 Association; and 22 WHEREAS, Mr. Alexander was a supporter of the Triple T 23 4-H Club and was a Clark County 4-H advisor for woodworking 24 and electricity; he was an avid supporter of Marshall High 25 School athletics and was a member of the Junior High Boosters 26 for both band and athletics; he also was an avid farm toy 27 collector; and 28 WHEREAS, The passing of John E. Alexander, Jr. will be 29 deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his 30 wife, Donna; his son, John Clifford Alexander; his parents, 31 John Sr. and Mary Alexander; his sister, Karen Elishoff; his -2- LRB9208285RHrh 1 mother-in-law and father-in-law, Esther Marie and Muri Krick; 2 his nieces; his nephew; and his great niece; therefore, be it 3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 5 all who knew him, the death of John E. Alexander, Jr. of 6 Marshall, Illinois; and be it further 7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 8 presented to the family of John E. Alexander, Jr. with our 9 sincere condolences.
