1 SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, According to the Illinois Toll Highway
3 Authority, most of the toll highway system in the State of
4 Illinois is in need of complete reconstruction or repair; and
5 WHEREAS, The Illinois Toll Highway Authority has
6 announced its intention to increase tolls; therefore, be it
7 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
8 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF
9 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING HEREIN, that we urge the Illinois
10 Toll Highway Authority to use any revenues generated by a
11 toll increase for the sole purpose of fixing, repairing, and
12 reconstructing the existing toll highway system; and be it
13 further
14 RESOLVED, That the existing toll highway system should be
15 completely repaired before any revenues are used to expand
16 the tollway system; and be it further
17 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
18 delivered to the Governor of the State of Illinois and to the
19 Board of Directors of the Illinois Toll Highway Authority.
