1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2390
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 2390, AS AMENDED,
3 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
4 following:
5 "Section 5. "An Act regarding appropriations", Public Act
6 92-538, approved June 10, 2002, is amended by adding Section
7 24 to Article 1 and by changing Section 25 of Article 1 as
8 follows:
9 (P.A. 92-538, Article 1, Section 24 new)
10 Sec. 24. The amount of $4,528,000, or so much of that
11 amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General
12 Revenue Fund to the State Board of Education for deposit into
13 the School District Emergency Financial Assistance Fund.

15 Sec. 25. The following amounts, or so much of those
16 amounts as may be necessary, respectively, for the objects
17 and purposes named, are appropriated to the Illinois State
18 Board of Education for Grants-In-Aid and loans:

29 schools under Section 14-7.02 of the School Code, for
30 reimbursement to school districts for extraordinary special
31 education and facilities under Section 14-7.02a of the School
32 Code, for reimbursement to school districts for services and
33 materials used in programs for disabled children under
34 Section 14-13.01 of the School Code, for reimbursement on a

1 current basis only to school districts that provide for
2 education of handicapped orphans from residential
3 institutions as well as foster children who are mentally
4 inpaired or behaviorally disordered as provided under Section
5 14-7.03 of the School Code, for reimbursement to school
6 districts qualifying under Section 29-5 of the School Code
7 for a portion of the cost of transporting common school
8 pupils, for reimbursement to school districts for a portion
9 of the cost of transporting disabled students under
10 subsection (b) of Section 14-13.01 of the School Code, for
11 reimbursement to school districts for providing free lunch
12 and breakfast programs under the provision of the School
13 Breakfast and Lunch Program Act, and for summer school
14 payments as provided by Section 18-4.3 of the School Code.

16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17 becoming law.".
