1 AN ACT making appropriations.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 ARTICLE 1
5 Section 1. The following named amounts, or so much
6 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated
7 for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Office of the
8 State Fire Marshal, as follows:

21 Section 2. The sum of $100,000, or so much thereof as
22 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Underground
23 Storage Tank Fund to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for
24 the purpose of funding expenses associated with processing
25 backlogged files pursuant to the Leaking Underground Storage
26 Tank Program.
27 Section 3. The sum of $200,000, or so much thereof as
28 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Underground
29 Storage Tank Fund to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for
30 costs associated with compliance certification of underground
31 storage tanks.

1 Section 4. The sum of $200,000, or so much thereof as
2 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Illinois
3 Firefighters' Memorial Fund to the Office of the State Fire
4 Marshal for expenses related to the maintenance of the
5 Illinois Firefighters' Memorial, holding the annual Fallen
6 Firefighter and Firefighter Medal of Honor Ceremonies, and
7 other expenses as allowed under Public Act 91-0832.
8 Section 5. The following named amounts, or so much
9 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated
10 to the Office of the State Fire Marshal as follows:

15 For Expenses of Fire Prevention

29 Section 6. The following named amounts, or so much
30 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated
31 for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Office of the

1 State Fire Marshal, as follows:
2 GRANTS
3 Payable from the Fire Prevention Fund:
4 For Chicago Fire Department Training Program $ 1,223,400
5 For payment to local governmental agencies
6 which participate in the State Training
7 Programs..................................... 350,000
8 For Regional Training Grants ................. 300,000
9 Total $1,873,400
10 Section 7. The sum of $550,000, or so much thereof as
11 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Underground
12 Storage Tank Fund to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for
13 a grant to the City of Chicago for Administrative Costs
14 incurred as a result of the State's Underground Storage
15 Program.
16 Section 8. The sum of $2,000, or so much thereof as may
17 be necessary, is appropriated from the Fire Prevention Fund
18 to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for grants available
19 for the development of new fire districts.
20 Section 10. The amount of $40,000, or so much thereof as
21 may be necessary, and as remains unexpended at the close of
22 business on June 30, 2002, from an appropriation heretofore
23 made for such purpose in Article 89, Section 10 of Public Act
24 92-8, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for
25 Illinois' Future to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for
26 a grant to the City of Granite City for the purpose of
27 purchasing fire equipment.
28 Section 11. The amount of $10,000, or so much thereof as
29 may be necessary, and as remains unexpended at the close of
30 business on June 30, 2002, from appropriations heretofore

1 made for such purpose in Article 89, Section 11 of Public Act
2 92-8, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for
3 Illinois' Future to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for
4 a grant to the City of Prairie Grove for the purchase of fire
5 station equipment.
6 Section 13. The amount of $700,000, or so much thereof
7 as may be necessary, and as remains unexpended at the close
8 of business on June 30, 2002, from appropriations heretofore
9 made for such purpose in Article 89, Section 13 of Public Act
10 92-8, as amended, is reappropriated from the General Revenue
11 Fund to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for radios,
12 computers, generators,and other costs associated with
13 homeland security.
14 Section 14. The amount of $2,000,000, or so much thereof
15 as may be necessary, and as remains unexpended at the close
16 of business on June 30, 2002, from an appropriation
17 heretofore made for such purpose in Article 89, Section 14 of
18 Public Act 92-8, as amended, is reappropriated from the
19 General Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Fire Marshal
20 for Fire Service Institute training costs associated with
21 homeland security.
22 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on
23 July 1, 2002.
