1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2313
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 2313 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT concerning compensation of public officials.";
5 and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Compensation Review Act is amended by
9 adding Section 5.5 as follows:
10 (25 ILCS 120/5.5 new)
11 Sec. 5.5. FY03 COLA's prohibited. Notwithstanding any
12 provision of this Act, any other law, or any resolution of
13 the General Assembly to the contrary, members of the General
14 Assembly, judges, other than the county supplement, State's
15 attorneys, other than the county supplement, the elected
16 constitutional officers of State government, and certain
17 appointed officers of State government, including members of
18 State departments, agencies, boards, and commissions whose
19 annual compensation is determined by the Board, are
20 prohibited from receiving and shall not receive any increase
21 in compensation based on a cost of living adjustment, as

1 authorized by Senate Joint Resolution 192 of the 86th General
2 Assembly, for or during the fiscal year beginning July 1,
3 2002.
4 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
5 becoming law.".
