1 AN ACT concerning the regulation of professions.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Acupuncture Practice Act is amended by
5 changing Section 5 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 2/5)
7 (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2008)
8 Sec. 5. Objects and purpose. The practice of
9 acupuncture in the State of Illinois is hereby declared to
10 affect the public health, safety, and welfare and to be
11 subject to regulation and control in the public interest. It
12 is further declared to be a matter of public interest and
13 concern that the practice of acupuncture as defined in this
14 Act merit and receive the confidence of the public, and that
15 only qualified persons be authorized to practice acupuncture
16 in the State of Illinois. This Act shall be liberally
17 construed to best carry out these subjects and purposes.
