1 AN ACT in relation to public employee benefits.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by
5 changing Section 9-108.1 as follows:
6 (40 ILCS 5/9-108.1) (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 9-108.1)
7 Sec. 9-108.1. Employees of County Department of Public
8 Aid transferred to State employment by operation of law.
9 Employees of a County Department of Public Aid in a
10 county of 3,000,000 or more inhabitants population who, on
11 January 1, 1974, are transferred by operation of law to State
12 employment and who elect not to become members of the
13 Retirement System established under Article 14 of this Code
14 as of the date they become State employees shall retain their
15 membership in the fund established in this Article 9 until
16 February 1, 1974, at which time they shall become members of
17 the System established under Article 14.
