 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1907

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 1907 by  replacing
 3    everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 4        "Section   5.  The  Illinois  Vehicle  Code is amended by
 5    changing Section 13B-50 as follows:

 6        (625 ILCS 5/13B-50)
 7        Sec. 13B-50.  Costs.
 8        (a)  Except as otherwise provided in  subsection  (e)  of
 9    Section  13B-15, no fee may shall be charged to motor vehicle
10    owners for obtaining inspections required under this Chapter.
11    The Vehicle Inspection Fund, which is a fund created  in  the
12    State  treasury  for the purpose of receiving moneys from the
13    Motor Fuel Tax Fund and other sources, shall be used, subject
14    to appropriation,  for  the  payment  of  the  costs  of  the
15    program,  including  reimbursement  of  those agencies of the
16    State  that  incur  expenses   in   the   administration   or
17    enforcement of the program. The Vehicle Inspection Fund shall
18    continue  in  existence notwithstanding the repeal of Chapter
19    13A.  Any money in the Vehicle Inspection Fund on January  1,
20    1995,  shall  be  used  for  the  purposes  set forth in this
21    Chapter.
22        (b)  The Agency  may  acquire,  own,  maintain,  operate,

 1    sell, lease and otherwise transfer real and personal property
 2    and  interests  in real and personal property for the purpose
 3    of creating or operating  inspection  stations  and  for  any
 4    other purpose relating to the administration of this Chapter,
 5    and  may use money from the Vehicle Inspection Fund for these
 6    purposes.
