1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1798
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 1798 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4 "Section 5. The Hospital Licensing Act is amended by
5 adding Section 10.5 as follows:
6 (210 ILCS 85/10.5 new)
7 Sec. 10.5. Limitation on exclusive contracts. No
8 exclusive contract is permissible for pain management
9 services performed by a physician licensed to practice
10 medicine in all its branches, except for physicians
11 administering anesthesia for specific diagnostic or
12 therapeutic procedures or surgeries other than solely for
13 pain management. Any physician applicant to a hospital
14 medical staff must meet the established criteria in the
15 medical staff bylaws.".
