1 AN ACT concerning municipalities.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
5 changing Section 11-80-2a as follows:
6 (65 ILCS 5/11-80-2a) (from Ch. 24, par. 11-80-2a)
7 Sec. 11-80-2a. Parking. A municipality with a
8 population of over 1,000,000 that receives State funds for
9 the maintenance of streets or roads within that municipality
10 shall not restrict parking on any street or road in that
11 municipality to residents only, except that a municipality
12 may restrict parking in residential areas during special
13 events for which a special parking sticker may then be
14 required In areas zoned for residential use, the corporate
15 authorities may restrict part of each street for "residents
16 parking only".
