1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of
3 the State of Illinois are pleased to honor the achievements
4 of student athletes; and
5 WHEREAS, The Bloomington High School football team, the
6 Purple Raiders, recently were runners up in the Class 6A
7 State Football Tournament in Champaign; the Purple Raiders
8 finished the season with a record of 13 wins and one loss;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, The head coach for the Purple Raiders is Rigo
11 Schmelzer; his assistant coaches are Don Anderson, Alan
12 Kuchefski, Paul Weltha, Mark Becika, Rich Baldwin, Willie
13 Boyd, Drew Moore, Jamie Codron, and Rob Vogel; and
14 WHEREAS, The members of the Purple Raiders are Scott
15 Vanderwaal, Chad Hudson, Chad Olson, Tanner Pachis, John
16 Hamrin, Dan Cotton, James Wade, Andre Brown, Daniel Nathan,
17 Ryan Burt, Eric Esch, Jake Callahan, Coty Thompson, Mark
18 Spence, Jeremy Peden, Steve Brown, Michael Harrison, Justin
19 Harrison, Damon Mehlberg, Josh McWhorter, Arturo Salazar, Rod
20 Castillo, Jody Brennan, Ryan Case, Corey Clemons, Adrian

31 cheerleaders who supported them throughout the season; they

6 Miller is the assistant coach; therefore, be it
7 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9 we congratulate the Purple Raiders football team of
10 Bloomington High School on finishing second in the State
11 Class 6A Football Tournament; and be it further
12 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
13 presented to Head Coach Rigo Schmelzer and each of the
14 contributing members of the Purple Raiders mentioned herein
15 with our best wishes for their continued success.
