1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are honored to recognize the milestones in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Jill Garrett will celebrate her retirement from
6 House Republican Leader Lee Daniels' district office; and
7 WHEREAS, Jill Garrett began working for Lee Daniels at
8 the law firm of Daniels & Faris is 1979; she continued her
9 work for Leader Daniels by becoming the schedule coordinator
10 for his district office in August of 1982; she became an
11 indispensable part of that office, serving as the contact
12 person for arranging meetings with the Leader; and
13 WHEREAS, Jill Garrett shares the Leader's passion for
14 helping those with developmental disabilities; as the
15 Chairperson of the Illinois Developmental Council on
16 Disabilities, she worked closely with Leader Daniels to
17 develop landmark reforms aimed at helping those with special
18 challenges succeed; and
19 WHEREAS, Along with her busy schedule assisting Leader
20 Daniels, Mrs. Garrett was able to find time to devote to her
21 family; she and her husband of 36 years, Jim Garrett, are the
22 proud parents of 2 children, Jill Melissa and Michael; and
23 WHEREAS, Jill Garrett is a long-time resident of the
24 Lombard and Elmhurst communities and looks forward to
25 remaining active with local charities that assist those less
26 fortunate; in her free time, Mrs. Garrett plans to continue
27 her hobbies of reading and refurbishing her cabin; therefore
28 be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
30 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
31 we congratulate Jill Garrett on her retirement from Leader

1 Daniels' district office and wish her well in her future
2 endeavors; and be it further
3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to Jill Garrett.
