1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives are
3 pleased to recognize milestones in the lives of citizens of
4 the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of this prestigious
6 Body that Kathleen Anne Martens has been awarded the degree
7 of Doctor of Chiropractic; and
8 WHEREAS, Dr. Kathleen Anne Martens received her Bachelor
9 of Arts and Sciences degree from Eastern Illinois University
10 in 1989 and a paralegal certification from Roosevelt
11 University in 1990; she attended Moraine Valley Community
12 College in Palos Hills to further her study of science in
13 order to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic; and
14 WHEREAS, On October 25, 2002, Dr. Kathleen Anne Martens
15 graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in
16 Davenport, Iowa; and
17 WHEREAS, Dr. Kathleen Anne Martens was joined on this
18 special day of her graduation by the members of her family,
19 including her proud parents, Charles J. Zickus, Jr. and State
20 Representative Anne Zickus and her brother Charles J. Zickus,
21 III, DVM MS; her parents-in-law, George and Ruth Martens; her
22 stepchildren, Matthew and Samantha Martens; her cousins,
23 Ellie Zickus, Joe Carlson, Barbara "Bobbie" Boyle, and Bill
24 and Valerie Warneke; her aunts and uncle, Nancy and Michael
25 Cummings and Gail Carlson; her friends, Patricia Granito,
26 Gina Dellamorte, Carolyn Dellamorte, Kim Dellamorte-Vrba,
27 Jonathon Dellamorte, Justin Vrba, Britni Vrba, and Bruceanne
28 Phillips; and in spirit by Gregory Martens, Aunt Adrienne
29 Warneke, and grandparents, William and Julia Greenhoff and
30 Charles and Eleanor Zickus; therefore, be it
31 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2 we congratulate Dr. Kathleen Anne Martens for the dedication
3 and hard work that led to her success, and further express
4 our best wishes for her personal happiness and professional
5 achievement; and be it further
6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to Dr. Kathleen Anne Martens.
