 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  wish to say farewell to State Representative
 4    Jonathan  C.  Wright;  he  was  chosen  to  succeed  longtime
 5    Representative John Turner, so he had big shoes to  fill;  he
 6    proved  immediately  that  he  was  more than up to the task,
 7    serving families in the 90th  District  with  conviction  and
 8    integrity; and

 9        WHEREAS,  He spearheaded a new law helping schools access
10    crisis  assistance  personnel  to  assist   students,   their
11    families  and  staff  following  violence  or other traumatic
12    incidents; he fought to ease the tax burden on our  families,
13    championing legislation to provide needed tax credits to help
14    offset the costs of child care or the care of other dependent
15    loved ones; he worked with his colleague to help boost family
16    farm  income,  sponsoring  legislation  promoting value-added
17    agriculture   programs   and    the    increased    use    of
18    Illinois-produced ethanol; and

19        WHEREAS,  He  fought to protect the safety and well being
20    of newborn infants,  sponsoring  legislation  to  ensure  all
21    infants  born alive in a hospital will receive proper medical
22    care; and he protected our childrens'  constitutional  rights
23    by  spearheading  a  new  law  assuring  they may engage in a
24    moment of silent prayer or reflection at school; and

25        WHEREAS,  Representative  Wright   is   a   resident   of
26    Hartsburg;  he  has  been supported throughout his public and
27    private life by his wife, Melanie, and  his  three  children;
28    and

29        WHEREAS,  We  wish  Jonathan  Wright  well  in all of his
30    future professional endeavors; while we know  he  is  looking
31    forward  to  returning  to his law practice and especially to
32    being able to spend more time with his family, we  will  miss

 1    him in the House; therefore, be it

 2        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
 3    NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
 4    we  commend  Representative  Jonathan  C.  Wright   for   his
 5    exemplary  service  in the Illinois House of Representatives;
 6    and be it further

 7        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 8    delivered  to  State  Representative Jonathan C. Wright as an
 9    expression of our esteem.
