1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives learned with great sadness of the death of
4 Virginia E. "Ginger" Lomelino of Springfield on Thursday,
5 October 10, 2002; and
6 WHEREAS, Ginger was born on October 6, 1953 in
7 Springfield, the daughter of Gerald and Wanda Scroggins
8 Hubbard; she married Robert Lomelino in 1982 in Riverton; and
9 WHEREAS, Ginger had worked a total of 26 years with the
10 State of Illinois; for the past 19 years she has served as a
11 legislative secretary to various members of the Illinois
12 House of Representatives; she was a dedicated colleague and
13 friend to Representative Jeff Schoenberg and Representative
14 Kevin McCarthy; and
15 WHEREAS, Ginger and her husband were both active for many
16 years with the East County Democrat Club; she also served as
17 club treasurer; she was affiliated with First United
18 Methodist Church; and
19 WHEREAS, Ginger was loved and admired by her family,
20 friends and co-workers; her personality has left an indelible
21 impression on all who knew her; and
22 WHEREAS, Ginger was a compassionate and selfless
23 individual who touched many lives with her innumerable acts
24 of kindness; and
25 WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by all who knew
26 and loved her especially her husband, Robert; her
27 stepdaughter Marla; her two grandchildren; her sister,
28 Deborah (husband, Ken) Burrows; her two aunts; and several
29 nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2 we mourn, along with her family and countless friends, the
3 death of Virginia E. "Ginger" Lomelino; she was well
4 respected and loved by all; and be it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to her husband Robert Lomelino.
