 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  are proud to recognize significant events in
 4    the lives of the citizens of this State; and

 5        WHEREAS, It has come to our  attention  that  Grant  Park
 6    Police  Chief  Scott  Fitts graduated June 14, 2002, from the
 7    F.B.I. National Academy Program  in  Quantico,  Virginia,  as
 8    part of the 209th National Academy class; and

 9        WHEREAS, Scott Fitts graduated with honors, earning a 3.8
10    grade  point  average  on  a  4  point scale and received the
11    Yellow Brick Fitness award; the Yellow Brick  Award  required
12    participation  in nearly three months worth of challenge runs
13    in addition to other physical training  regimens;  the  final
14    challenge  was a 9.4 mile run, which included an additional 3
15    miles through a Marine obstacle course, in 101  degree  heat;
16    and

17        WHEREAS,  Scott  Fitts  returns to Grant Park to continue
18    his position as Police Chief and  looks  forward  to  a  long
19    career  in  law  enforcement,  whether it be in Grant Park or
20    elsewhere; therefore, be it

21        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
22    NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23    we  congratulate  Grant  Park Police Chief Scott Fitts on his
24    graduation from the F.B.I. National Academy Program and  wish
25    him all the best in the future; and be it further

26        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
27    presented to Scott Fitts as an expression of our esteem.
