 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  are proud to honor significant events in the
 4    lives of the citizens of this State; and

 5        WHEREAS, It has come to  our  attention  that  Dennis  L.
 6    Bluhm  of  Delavan was honored by the Delavan Ambulance Board
 7    with a "Lifetime Achiever" plaque for his 24 years of service
 8    as a volunteer EMT for the town; and

 9        WHEREAS, The Delavan Ambulance Service began in 1976, and
10    Mr. Bluhm volunteered in 1978, serving at least nine years as
11    chief; the Ambulance Service has received approximately 3,552
12    calls in the past 24 years, and Mr. Bluhm  has  responded  to
13    about  75  percent  of  those calls, or 2,664, to receive his
14    "Lifetime Achiever" award; he has spent about 5,328 hours, or
15    the equivalent of 222 days, providing  volunteer  service  to
16    Delavan; and

17        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Bluhm also received a special tribute from
18    the citizens of Delavan, a book of cards of appreciation  for
19    his  spirit  of  volunteerism; the cards expressed thanks for
20    his 32-year  career  with  Prudential  Insurance  Company  of
21    America,  20  years with the Illinois National Guard, service
22    with the U.S. Army, including a one  year  tour  in  Vietnam,
23    coaching  of  Little  League  teams in Delavan, and volunteer
24    services with the Boy Scouts since 1977; therefore, be it

25        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
26    NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27    we congratulate Dennis L. Bluhm for his outstanding volunteer
28    service  to  the  Delavan community and the Delavan Ambulance
29    Service, and wish him many years of happiness in the  future;
30    and be it further

31        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
