 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives   are   proud  to  congratulate  high  school
 4    athletic achievements in this State; and

 5        WHEREAS,  It  has  come  to  our  attention   that   Lynn
 6    Klostermann,  a  former student of Breese Central, has had an
 7    outstanding high school athletic career and will be  pursuing
 8    it further at Indiana State University; and

 9        WHEREAS,  Lynn  Klostermann has brought home State medals
10    with the Breese Central Lady Cougars in track and volleyball,
11    but her career on the basketball  court  is  among  the  most
12    distinguished in Southern Illinois history; and

13        WHEREAS, Lynn Klostermann began playing basketball at the
14    age  of  4  years old, and, with her brothers, she would play
15    every day on the driveway court; and

16        WHEREAS, During  her  sophomore  year,  Lynn  Klostermann
17    helped  the  Lady  Cougars put themselves on the map for good
18    with a breakout 28-4 season; during that 1999-2000  campaign,
19    Breese  Central  won  the  first of three straight tournament
20    titles at Mascoutah and made the first of  three  consecutive
21    trips  to  the  Class  A  supersectional;  over the last four
22    years, her Lady Cougars pegged a remarkable 107 wins and just
23    20 losses; and

24        WHEREAS, Lynn Klostermann also ran as  a  member  of  the
25    1,600-meter  relay team that finished ninth at State in 2000,
26    and she played volleyball with the Lady  Cougars,  who  boast
27    one of the top programs in Illinois; and

28        WHEREAS,   Among  her  awards,  Lynn  Klostermann  earned
29    recognition as the 2002 Prep Athlete of the Year;  on  August
30    17,  2002, she will leave for Indiana State University, where
31    she will play for the Sycamores, one of about 20  Division  I

 1    basketball programs that courted her; therefore, be it

 2        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
 3    NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
 4    we congratulate Lynn Klostermann on her achievements and wish
 5    her all the best in the future; and be it further

 6        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 7    presented to Lynn Klostermann as an expression of our esteem.
