1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Dr. James H.
6 Clark will be retiring from his position as Superintendent of
7 Joliet Township High School at the end of the 2001-2002
8 school year; and
9 WHEREAS, A resident of Shorewood, Illinois, Dr. Clark
10 earned his bachelor's degree from Manchester College, his
11 master's degree from Purdue University, a Certificate of
12 Advanced Study and his Doctorate in Educational
13 Administration from the University of Illinois; and
14 WHEREAS, Dr. Clark has served Joliet Township High School
15 as Superintendent since 1996; he previously served as
16 Assistant Superintendent for Educational Services for Joliet
17 Township High School from 1993 to 1996, as Principal of
18 Lockport Township High School, Central Campus, from 1986 to
19 1993, as Assistant Principal of Thornton Township High School
20 from 1982 to 1986, as Chairperson of the Speech Department at
21 Thornton Township High School from 1972 to 1982, and as a
22 teacher of speech, drama, and English at Marion Community
23 High School in Marion, Indiana, from 1965 to 1972; he
24 currently is an Adjunct Instructor at Aurora University and
25 Governors' State University since 1999; and
26 WHEREAS, Dr. Clark is a member of several professional
27 associations, including the American Association of School
28 Administrators, the Association of Supervision and Curriculum
29 development, the Illinois Association of School
30 Administrators, the Illinois Association of Supervision and
31 Curriculum Development, Phi Delta Kappa, the Illinois
32 Learning Partnership, the Illinois Learning Partnership -

1 Advisory Committee, the University of Illinois Educational
2 Administrators Alumni Association Board, and the Midewin
3 Prairie Learning Partnership; and
4 WHEREAS, The presence of Dr. Clark will be dearly missed
5 by the faculty, staff, and students, both past and present,
6 of the Joliet Township High School community; therefore, be
7 it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10 we congratulate Dr. James H. Clark on his retirement as
11 Superintendent of Joliet Township High School and we wish him
12 well in all of his future endeavors; and be it further
13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to Dr. James H. Clark as an expression of our
15 esteem.
