92_HR0812 LRB9216622RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The highest award the National Council of the 3 Boy Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout is that of 4 Eagle Scout; and 5 WHEREAS, Erik Glenna of Boy Scout Troop 740, in Glenwood, 6 will receive the Eagle Scout Award at a Court of Honor to be 7 held on April 20, 2002, at St. John Church in Glenwood; and 8 WHEREAS, Erik Glenna has been a Boy Scout for the past 12 9 years; he is a student at Marian Catholic High School and 10 currently serves as a cadet for the Thornton Fire Department; 11 in his free time he enjoys pursuing his hobbies, which 12 include bodybuilding, hunting, and fishing; and 13 WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young 14 man must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a 15 willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in 16 camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and 17 WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Erik Glenna joins an 18 elite and honorable fraternity of achievers that counts among 19 its members an extraordinary number of this nation's great 20 leaders in business, government, education, and other sectors 21 of society; and 22 WHEREAS, The achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout 23 reflects favorably upon the recipient, his justly proud 24 family, his Scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; therefore, be 25 it 26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 27 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 28 we join his family and friends in congratulating Erik Glenna 29 upon attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and commend 30 him upon the unswerving dedication to excellence that is the 31 hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further -2- LRB9216622RHrh 1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 2 presented to Eagle Scout Erik Glenna as an expression of our 3 respect and esteem.
