92_HR0758 LRB9216519RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives wish to recognize milestone achievements in 4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Arlene Darby 6 Gass is retiring this year after an outstanding 24-year 7 teaching career for the Rock Island School District; and 8 WHEREAS, Arlene Gass received her bachelor's degree from 9 Mount Mary College in Salina, Kansas, and her master's degree 10 from Saint Xavier University in Chicago; and 11 WHEREAS, Arlene Gass has served as a teacher to the 12 students of the Rock Island School District for the past 24 13 years; she previously was a teacher in the State of Kansas 14 for ten years; and 15 WHEREAS, Arlene Gass has received numerous recognitions 16 for excellence and was nominated for the Master's teacher 17 award for distinguishing herself as a dedicated educator who 18 would go to new lengths to keep her students on top 19 academically; and 20 WHEREAS, Arlene Gass is the daughter of the late Paul 21 Darby and Vida Darby, the mother of the Reverend William 22 "Chip" Camden and City of Moline Police Officer David Darby, 23 and the grandmother of Darby and Ce Ce; therefore, be it 24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 25 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 26 we congratulate Arlene Darby Gass on her retirement after an 27 outstanding 24-year teaching career for the Rock Island 28 School District and we wish her well in all of her future 29 endeavors; and be it further 30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be -2- LRB9216519RHrh 1 presented to Arlene Darby Gass as an expression of our 2 esteem.
