1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 high school organizations in the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The Antioch Community High School's newspaper,
6 the Tom Tom, was recently inducted into the University of
7 Minnesota's National Scholastic Press Association Hall of
8 Fame for 2002 for achieving All-American Status for ten
9 consecutive years; and
10 WHEREAS, Antioch Community High School is one of fewer
11 than 40 schools across the nation to achieve this honor; and
12 WHEREAS, The Antioch Community High School's Tom Tom has
13 received several honors in the past, including the All KEMPA
14 Award from the University of Wisconsin, Best of Class by the
15 Northern Illinois Scholastic Press Association, a designation
16 as a 1998 Gold Medalist from the Columbia Scholastic Press
17 Association, and First Place-Special Merit honors by the
18 American Scholastic Press Association; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21 we congratulate the students and faculty responsible for
22 Antioch Community High School's newspaper, the Tom Tom, on
23 its induction into the University of Minnesota's National
24 Scholastic Press Association Hall of Fame for 2002, and we
25 wish them continued success in the future; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Jim Love, principal of Antioch Community High
28 School, as an expression of our esteem.
