1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the history of businesses in the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that the
6 Stotlar-Herrin Lumber Company is celebrating its 100th
7 anniversary of service this year; and
8 WHEREAS, Stotlar-Herrin Lumber Company was incorporated
9 on May 1, 1901; the original stockholders were Fred Stotlar,
10 Harry Stotlar, Ed Stotlar, William Stotlar, and Paul Herrin;
11 and
12 WHEREAS, For the past century, Stotlar-Herrin Lumber
13 Company has been run by five generations of Stotlars; its
14 current president is Fred Stotlar, a great-grandson of one of
15 the founders; and
16 WHEREAS, Stotlar-Herrin Lumber Company proudly serves
17 four locations in Southern Illinois, including West
18 Frankfort, Benton, Christopher, and Johnston City; and
19 WHEREAS, Stotlar-Herrin Lumber company strives to give
20 quality roofing, siding, plywood, lumber, paint, and hardware
21 in a courteous way and with a mind toward serving the
22 community; in addition, Stotlar-Herrin Lumber Company
23 partners with the Frankfort Community High School to provide
24 athletics, drama, and student publications; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27 we congratulate Stotlar-Herrin Lumber Company on 100 years of
28 service to the residents of Southern Illinois; and be it
29 further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

1 presented to Fred Stotlar as an expression of our esteem.
