1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are honored to recognize the members of the
4 Centralia City Fire Department and the Fire Protection
5 District who risk their lives on a daily basis for the
6 residents of Centralia, Illinois; and
7 WHEREAS, At the 75th Annual Centralia Halloween Parade on
8 October 27, 2001, the city of Centralia has included a
9 special tribute to the selfless acts of the emergency
10 responders who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks
11 on September 11, 2001; and
12 WHEREAS, Seven fire departments will be among the
13 parade's many units that will form a single unit and proceed
14 in silence in a final tribute to their comrades who had
15 perished; and
16 WHEREAS, The parade will also serve as a posthumous
17 tribute to the late Gib Lynch of the Centralia Fire
18 Protection District, who had recently passed away; therefore,
19 be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we thank and honor the members of the Centralia City Fire
23 Department and the Fire Protection District for their
24 selfless acts of duty to the residents of Centralia,
25 Illinois; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to the Centralia City Fire Department and the Fire
28 Protection District as an expression of our esteem.
