1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are honored to recognize significant
4 milestones in the lives of the people of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Aljean
6 McConnell of Chicago is celebrating the 87th anniversary of
7 her birth; and
8 WHEREAS, Aljean McConnell was born on July 18, 1914; and
9 WHEREAS, Mrs. McConnell has demonstrated an outstanding
10 commitment to her community during the past 30 years; and
11 WHEREAS, As a volunteer, Mrs. McConnell has made a
12 difference in the lives of children and youth at Beatrice
13 Caffrey Youth Services; in addition, she has made tireless
14 volunteer contributions to the poor and homeless at the
15 Lakeside Community Committee and worked to improve and direct
16 the lives of the girls and young women at Sadie Waterford
17 Manor; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20 we congratulate Aljean McConnell on the occasion of her 87th
21 birthday and extend to her our sincere best wishes for the
22 future; and be it further
23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to Aljean McConnell as an expression of our respect
25 and esteem.
