1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mae Ruth
6 Wadlington Carr is stepping down from her duties as Local
7 Area Network and Budget Administrator at the Nancy Jefferson
8 Alternative School; and
9 WHEREAS, Mae Ruth Wadlington Carr has provided a
10 dedicated and committed service as an Administrator and
11 Educator in the Chicago Public Schools for the past 34 years;
12 she has faithfully served Nancy Jefferson Alternative School,
13 Corliss High School, Lane Technical High School, Simeon
14 Vocational High School, and Herzel Elementary School; and
15 WHEREAS, Mae Ruth Wadlington Carr has made successful
16 efforts to promote the cause of education, civic pride and
17 responsibility, health care and other important social
18 issues; and
19 WHEREAS, Mae Ruth Wadlington Carr has performed many
20 great services and fully deserves her retirement from her
21 professional life; her kindness, insight, strength and
22 knowledge will be missed; in addition, her work as an
23 advocate for minority scientists and engineers, as a
24 supporter of science and technology education, and her
25 personal example of excellence in teaching and administration
26 will leave a lasting impression on all who have known her;
27 therefore, be it
28 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
30 we congratulate Mae Ruth Wadlington Carr for her dedication
31 and commitment to education and her community and on her

1 forthcoming retirement; we also wish her well in all of her
2 future endeavors; and be it further
3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to Mae Ruth Wadlington Carr as an expression of our
5 esteem.
