1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in high
4 school activities in the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The Naperville North High School Math Team has
6 had outstanding placement in several recent competitions; the
7 team finished in First Place in the Regional contest
8 sponsored by the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics
9 at the College of DuPage on February 24, 2001; they placed
10 first at the State of Illinois Math Contest at the University
11 of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on April 28, 2001; and
12 WHEREAS, The Naperville North High School Math Team
13 consists of four teams; the Senior Team members are Matt
14 Collander, Ankur Desai, Jamie Holzhauer, Jeff Huang, Jill
15 Kick, Katherine Lin, Florence Twu, and Ian Yap; the Junior
16 Team members are Amanda Chang, Cyndy Chen, Ryan Huang, Albert
17 Lin, Alex Rechenmacher, Betsy Wild, and Michael Wu; the
18 Sophomore Team members are Justin Canniff, Jim Hansen, Leo
19 Hua, Ben Kaduk, Lawrence Lin, Kannan Puthuval, Mickey Sheu,
20 and Marianne Twu; and the Freshman Team members are James
21 Albrecht, Dan Dugovic, Jeff Ma, Coulson Painter, Irena Wang,
22 Karen Wu, Dunping Yang, and Felix Yap; their head coaches are
23 Craig Morse and William Petersen; and the assistant coaches
24 are Tim Madden and Liz Moore; therefore be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27 we congratulate the Naperville North High School Math Team on
28 winning the Regional contest and the State of Illinois Math
29 Contest; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to the principal of Naperville North High School
32 and the Math Team head coaches.
