1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to offer our sincere congratulations to
4 Ralph Pechanio on receiving the Elmhurst Jaycees' 2001
5 Distinguished Services Award; and
6 WHEREAS, Ralph Pechanio is husband to Georgette and
7 father to Matthew and Polly; he received a Bachelor of
8 Science of Commerce from DePaul University; he also served in
9 the United States Army; and
10 WHEREAS, Ralph Pechanio acted as Controller, Vice
11 President and Treasurer, and Chief Financial Officer at the
12 former Elmhurst Federal Savings Bank from 1970 until his
13 retirement in 1993; and
14 WHEREAS, His achievements have benefited Elmhurst and
15 Illinois in his efforts to make Elmhurst a better place; and
16 WHEREAS, His role in the building of the Veterans
17 Memorial in Wilder Park and as chair of the Elmhurst Veterans
18 Memorial Commission helps us remember those who have served
19 their country; and
20 WHEREAS, The business and civic communities have been
21 served by Ralph Pechanio since 1993; and
22 WHEREAS, His local affiliations include the City of
23 Elmhurst, the Elmhurst Economic Development Corporation, the
24 Elmhurst City Centre, MacCormac College, the Elmhurst Family
25 YMCA, and the Kiwanis Club of Elmhurst; and
26 WHEREAS, We recognize the efforts of Ralph Pechanio,
27 whose leadership has inspired the improvement of the Elmhurst
28 community; and
29 WHEREAS, Ralph Pechanio's achievement is a source of
30 inspiration to the entire community; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we congratulate Ralph Pechanio on receiving the Elmhurst
4 Jaycees' 2001 Distinguished Services Award; and be it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to Ralph Pechanio and his family.
