1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 John Heavens of Coal City, Illinois, are celebrating the
8 fiftieth anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Frances Irene Calhoon and John Francis Heavens
10 were united in holy matrimony on May 26, 1951 at St. Mary's
11 Assumption Church in Coal City, Illinois; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Cathy (husband,
13 Gary) Born and Pam Heavens; and the grandparents of Zachary
14 John Born; and
15 WHEREAS, John and Frances Heavens will celebrate their
16 fiftieth wedding anniversary surrounded by family and friends
17 at the Berst Center in Coal City, Illinois on May 26, 2001;
18 and
19 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
20 highest plateaus when a couple such as John and Frances
21 Heavens celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
22 WHEREAS, John and Frances Heavens stand as examples of
23 the best of our society, and their love and devotion to each
24 other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder to
25 all that hard work, dedication, and love can make a
26 difference in today's world; therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
28 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
29 we congratulate John and Frances Heavens on the occasion of
30 their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for

1 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
2 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
3 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
4 further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
