1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that George
6 Strecker is retiring from a thirty-five year teaching career
7 at Community High School District 94 in West Chicago on June
8 7, 2001; and
9 WHEREAS, George Strecker, a resident of St. Charles,
10 Illinois, grew up in the East St. Louis area; he graduated
11 from Illinois State University with his bachelor's degree in
12 1963 and his master's degree in 1976; he began his teaching
13 career in Kankakee, Illinois; and
14 WHEREAS, George Strecker began his tenure at Community
15 High School in West Chicago in 1966; during his career he
16 served as a basketball coach, student council advisor,
17 association president, social studies department chair, and
18 interdisciplinary department head; and
19 WHEREAS, Throughout his career, George Strecker has
20 established a standard of educational excellence that has
21 influenced both his students and colleagues; he has a
22 reputation throughout the community as a man of integrity,
23 both personally and professionally; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate George Strecker on his retirement from a
27 thirty-five year teaching career at Community High School
28 District 94 in West Chicago, Illinois; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to George Strecker as an expression of our esteem.
