 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The  institution  of  marriage  is  one  of  the
 3    cornerstones upon which our society is built; and

 4        WHEREAS,  It  has come to our attention that Dr. and Mrs.
 5    Charles  Joseph  Zickus,  III  of  Lakeland,   Florida   will
 6    celebrate the first anniversary of their marriage; and

 7        WHEREAS,  Dr.  Charles Joseph Zickus III, and Candace Joy
 8    Brooks were united in holy matrimony  on  May  14,  2000,  in
 9    Ellisville,  Mississippi;  their bridal party included Matron
10    of honor, Tracey McGraw, Bridesmaids,  Stacey  Nix,  Jennifer
11    Mills,  Terri  Brooks,  and  Jill  Brooks, the best men, Mike
12    Guidarelli  and  Tom  Pukstys,  ushers,  Joe   Carlson,   Dan
13    Heverdes,  and  Dan  Dilea, and the flower girl, Addie Brooks
14    accompanied by Todd the cocker spaniel; and

15        WHEREAS,  Charles  and  Candace  met  while   they   were
16    attending  Mississippi  State  University;  he  was  born  in
17    Berwyn,  Illinois  on  May  5,  1968,  while  she was born in
18    Laurel, Mississippi on July 3, 1974; and

19        WHEREAS, Dr. and Mrs. Zickus moved to  Lakeland,  Florida
20    in June of 2000; Dr. Zickus began practice as a DVM at Animal
21    Clinic  at  South Side in Plant City, Florida and Mrs. Zickus
22    works as a hair stylist at Talk of the Town in Lakeland; they
23    are expecting their first child, Charles Joseph Zickus IV, in
24    September of 2001; and

25        WHEREAS, Charles and Candace Zickus are celebrating their
26    first wedding anniversary  with  congratulations  and  loving
27    wishes   of  their  family,  which  includes  Charles'  proud
28    parents, Charles Joseph Zickus, Jr. and State  Representative
29    Anne  Zickus;  Candace's  proud parents, B.L. Jr. and Deborah
30    Brooks;  Charles'   sister,   Kathleen   Martens;   Candace's
31    brothers,  Chad  and Jill Brooks, and Joel and Terrie Brooks;

 1    their  nieces,  Samantha  Martens  and  Addie  Brooks;  their
 2    nephew, Matthew Martens; their aunts, Joan  Greenhoff,  Nancy
 3    and  Michael  Cummings, Gail Carlson, and in spirit, the late
 4    Adrienne Warneke; their uncle, William Zickus; and in spirit,
 5    their grandparents, the late Charles and Eleanor Zickus,  the
 6    late  William  and  Julia  Greenhoff, Louise and the late Sid
 7    Strickland, and B.L., Sr. and Betty Brooks; and

 8        WHEREAS, Charles and Candace stand  as  examples  of  the
 9    best  of  our  society,  and  their love and devotion to each
10    other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder  to
11    all   that  hard  work,  dedication,  and  love  can  make  a
12    difference in today's world; therefore, be it

13        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
14    NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
15    we  congratulate  Dr. Charles and Candace Zickus, III, on the
16    occasion of their first wedding anniversary; that we  commend
17    them  for  achieving  a happy marriage; and that we wish them
18    happiness and good health in the future; and be it further

19        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
20    presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
