 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members  of  this  body  are  honored   to
 3    recognize Illinois citizens who have distinguished themselves
 4    in service to their community and the State of Illinois; and

 5        WHEREAS,  It  has  come  to  our  attention that James T.
 6    Hudson of Worth has announced his May 15, 2001 retirement  as
 7    Deputy Chief of Police of the Worth Police Department; and

 8        WHEREAS,  James  T.  Hudson  is a 44-year resident of the
 9    Village of Worth, who has attended Worth  Elementary  School,
10    Harold  L.  Richards  Community  High  School,  and  the  FBI
11    National Academy in Quantico, Virginia; and

12        WHEREAS,  He  began  his  career  as  a  part-time police
13    officer in 1970, served as a patrolman from 1971 to 1989, was
14    promoted to Sergeant in 1989,  and  became  Deputy  Chief  in
15    1999; and

16        WHEREAS,  James  T. Hudson was a volunteer fireman in the
17    Village of Worth, a  member  of  the  South  Suburban  Police
18    Chiefs  Association, the 5th District Chiefs Association, the
19    Illinois Police Chiefs Association, the Northern  Chapter  of
20    the  FBI  National  Academy  Association,  the South Suburban
21    Juvenile Officers Association, and  a  member  of  the  Worth
22    Township Youth Service Bureau; and

23        WHEREAS,  James  T.  Hudson, during his 32 year career of
24    distinguished   service   has    received    50    department
25    commendations,  numerous citizen honorable mentions, the Cook
26    County Sheriffs Law  Enforcement  Award  of  Merit,  and  has
27    earned  the  respect  and admiration of all who have grown to
28    know him; and

29        WHEREAS, James T. Hudson has made numerous  contributions
30    to his community and will be deeply missed; therefore, be it

 1        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
 2    NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
 3    we congratulate James T. Hudson as he retires from the  Worth
 4    Police  Department  and extend to him our sincere best wishes
 5    for the future; and be it further

 6        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 7    presented to James T. Worth as an expression of our esteem.
