1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Brian Hickey has recently been named President
6 and Business Manager of the International Union of Operating
7 Engineers (IUOE) Local 399, and International Vice-President
8 of IUOE; and
9 WHEREAS, Brian Hickey is a graduate of De La Salle High
10 School and earned a degree in Engineering from Northern
11 Michigan University; and
12 WHEREAS, Brian Hickey has been a member of Local 399
13 since 1981; and
14 WHEREAS, Since he has been a member of Local 399, Brian
15 Hickey has moved from Engineer to Chief Engineer to Executive
16 Board Member to Recording Secretary; and
17 WHEREAS, Brian Hickey has gone beyond his duties and
18 expectations of his position by influencing others through
19 his participation in community projects and organizations,
20 including the Scottsdale Park Boys Little League, girls
21 softball and basketball teams, the St. Dennis Boys football
22 team, the St. Linus Athletic Association, and the Knights of
23 Columbus; and
24 WHEREAS, Brian Hickey and his wife, Kathy, happily reside
25 in Oak Lawn, Illinois; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we congratulate Brian Hickey for being named president and
29 business manager of IUOE Local 399 and International
30 Vice-President for IUOE; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to Brian Hickey as an expression of our esteem.
