92_HR0123 LRB9208433RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to 4 the family and friends of Wardell Evelyn Jackson, who passed 5 away on December 4, 2000; and 6 WHEREAS, Wardell Evelyn Jackson was born on January 28, 7 1922 in Roberta, Georgia, to the late Sylvester and Evelyn 8 Appling; she was married to the late David Jackson; and 9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Jackson graduated from Overbrook High 10 School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and she attended the 11 Cortez Peters Business School; she was employed at both 12 Spiegel's and Walter Heller Co.; she was also Assistant 13 Administrator for Health Services at Olive Harvey College and 14 an Office Manager for 13 years at her daughter's dental 15 practice; and 16 WHEREAS, Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Willing 17 Worker's club at Mt. Calvary M.B. Church, served on the 18 Pastor's Aide Committee and Mother's Board at St. John M.B. 19 Church, and was a Sunday school teacher and choir member at 20 St. Matthew A.M.E. Church; she also served as a crossing 21 guard for the City of Chicago in the Morgan Park community; 22 and 23 WHEREAS, The passing of Wardell Evelyn Jackson will be 24 deeply felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her 25 children, Karol, Don, Errol, Dexter, and Marilyn; her 15 26 grandchildren; her 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of 27 nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; therefore, be it 28 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 29 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 30 we mourn, along with all who knew her, the death of Wardell 31 Evelyn Jackson of Chicago, Illinois; and be it further -2- LRB9208433RHrh 1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 2 presented to the family of Wardell Evelyn Jackson with our 3 sincere condolences.
