1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestone events in the
4 lives of the citizens of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Jenn Scheitlin was recently crowned Miss
6 Illinois County Fair Queen for 2001 during the 42nd annual
7 ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Springfield, Illinois;
8 and
9 WHEREAS, Jenn Scheitlin, a native of Champaign, graduated
10 from Champaign Central High School; she is in her sophomore
11 year at the University of Illinois where she is majoring in
12 elementary education; and
13 WHEREAS, Jenn Scheitlin is active as a youth group leader
14 for sixth-grade girls at Vineyard Christian Fellowship in
15 Urbana; she loves sports especially soccer and running; and
16 WHEREAS, After previously winning the Champaign County
17 pageant; Miss Scheitlin represented Champaign County in the
18 Miss Illinois County Fair Pageant; her competition speech
19 began: "How would you like to open a gift every day of your
20 life" in which she talked about enjoying the simple things in
21 life; she has expressed her desire to be able to make an
22 impact in children's lives through her studies; and has been
23 involved with designing a research web site through the
24 University of Illinois College of Agricultural, Consumer and
25 Environmental Sciences; and
26 WHEREAS, This is the second year in a row that a Miss
27 Champaign County will have the honor of reigning over the
28 Illinois State Fair; Miss Scheitlin has brought outstanding
29 recognition to Champaign County; she was one of 68 county
30 fair queens in the pageant; and
31 WHEREAS, Jenn Scheitlin shares her crown with her proud

1 parents, Dave and Denise Scheitlin; therefore, be it
2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4 we congratulate Jenn Scheitlin of Champaign, Illinois, on
5 being crowned Miss Illinois County Fair Queen for the year
6 2001; and be it further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to Miss Jenn Scheitlin as an expression of our
9 esteem.
