92_HR0081 LRB9207804KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Charles "Chip" 3 Woodward has left his position as Director of Legislative 4 Affairs, Office of the Governor, to become Deputy Auditor 5 General for the State of Illinois; and 6 WHEREAS, As Director of Legislative Affairs Charles 7 "Chip" Woodward was responsible for developing and 8 implementing Governor George Ryan's legislative agenda; he 9 served as the Governor's liaison to the Illinois General 10 Assembly; and he was highly valued and respected by those who 11 worked with him on a daily basis; and 12 WHEREAS, Charles "Chip" Woodward received his education 13 from Southern Illinois University, where he received a 14 Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science; he was a member 15 of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity and the Intra-Fraternity Council; 16 he also did post graduate work at Eden Theological Seminary 17 in St. Louis, Missouri; and 18 WHEREAS, In addition to working with the Office of the 19 Governor, Charles "Chip" Woodward has also served as: the 20 Director of Legislative Affairs for the Office of the 21 Secretary of State (1994 to 1998); the Chief Deputy Director 22 of Legislative Affairs for the Office of the Secretary of 23 State (1991 to 1994); the Assistant for State Legislative 24 Relations for the Office of Legislation and Intergovernmental 25 Affairs, Illinois Department of Public Aid (1990 to 1991); 26 Policy Specialist for the Bureau of Policy and Federal 27 Affairs, Office of Inter-Governmental Affairs, the Illinois 28 Department of Transportation (1985 to 1990); Assistant 29 Project Director for the Bureau of Child Support Enforcement, 30 Illinois Department of Public Aid (1984 to 1985); Contract 31 Administrator for the Bureau of Child Support Enforcement, 32 Illinois Department of Public Aid (1981 to 1984); Acting -2- LRB9207804KBkb 1 Director, Office of the Governor, Illinois Office of 2 Voluntary Citizen Participation (1980 to 1981); and 3 Disability Claims Adjudicator, Bureau of Disability 4 Adjudication Services, Illinois Department of Rehabilitation 5 Services (1977 to 1980); and 6 WHEREAS, Charles "Chip" Woodward has been an invaluable 7 member of the Governor's staff and will continue to excel 8 wherever his path may take him; therefore, be it 9 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 10 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 11 we congratulate Charles "Chip" Woodward on his new position 12 as Deputy Auditor General and wish him nothing but the best 13 in his future endeavors; and be it further 14 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 15 presented to Charles "Chip" Woodward.
