1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize the Junior League of
4 Greater DuKane, Inc., and its work to improve the quality of
5 life for children at risk; and
6 WHEREAS, The Junior League of Greater DuKane, Inc., is an
7 affiliate of the Association of Junior Leagues International;
8 the Junior League of Greater DuKane, Inc. is an organization
9 of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the
10 potential of women, and improving the community through the
11 effective action and leadership of trained volunteers; and
12 WHEREAS, The Junior League of Greater DuKane places their
13 emphasis on prevention and rehabilitative services; some of
14 the projects supported by the League's membership include
15 ChildServ, the Glenwood School for Boys, the DuPage
16 Children's Museum, Kids on the Block, the Parents Pantry,
17 Opportunity Knocks, and the Story Wizards; and
18 WHEREAS, The membership includes Women from DuPage, Kane,
19 Kendall and Will Counties of Illinois; these volunteers
20 provide hours of service to their local communities;
21 membership is open to women of all races, religions,
22 nationalities, sexual orientations, or disabilities who
23 demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism; and
24 WHEREAS, A celebration will be held February 24, 2001;
25 Winterflight Gala, "LeCirque d'Hiver"; an awards ceremony
26 attended by over 400 patrons from the community will be one
27 small part of the celebration; therefore, be it
28 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
30 we congratulate the Junior League of Greater DuKane, Inc.
31 members for their hard work and dedication to their

2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the members of the Junior League of Greater
4 DuKane, Inc.
