1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the history of organizations of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, In 2001, The Retired Teachers Association of
6 Chicago is celebrating its 75th anniversary of service to the
7 retired teachers of the Chicago Board of Education; and
8 WHEREAS, The Association has been a leader in legislative
9 efforts to provide financial and health benefits to Chicago's
10 retired teachers; and
11 WHEREAS, The Retired Teachers Association of Chicago has,
12 for many years, provided fellowship and personal support to
13 Chicago's retired teachers; and
14 WHEREAS, The Retired Teachers Association of Chicago has
15 encouraged many retired teachers to become volunteers for
16 many civic, community, and cultural organizations throughout
17 the Chicago metropolitan area; and
18 WHEREAS, The Retired Teachers Association of Chicago has
19 been a leader in providing a variety of personal, financial
20 and social services to the retired teachers of Chicago's
21 school system since 1926; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
24 we commend the Retired Teachers Association of Chicago on its
25 75 years of outstanding service to its thousands of members;
26 and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the Retired Teachers Association of Chicago as
29 an expression of our esteem.
