1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Lake Villa
6 Township Supervisor, Sue Hanson, is retiring from her duties
7 on April 10, 2001; and
8 WHEREAS, Sue Hanson was elected to the position of Lake
9 Villa Township Clerk in 1985 and then elected Township
10 Supervisor, where she has served loyally from 1989 to the
11 present day; and
12 WHEREAS, Sue Hanson was a very diligent and hard worker
13 during her township service, and her many accomplishments
14 illustrate this; some of her accomplishments include:
15 creating the Township Food Pantry, distributing food baskets
16 during the holiday season, establishing a Township Plan
17 Commission, establishing a curbside recycling and yard-waste
18 pick up program, offering an AIDS/HIV Health Education
19 program, and establishing a Meals on Wheels Coordinator for
20 the Lake Villa Township Area; she has also established many
21 community services for Lake Villa Township which include:
22 cardboard recycling, Share Foods, vehicle stickers, notary
23 township maps, a handicap parking card, school physicals,
24 lifeline communicators, state identification applications, a
25 reduced fare for taxi and the bus, RTA Train and Bus photos,
26 and passport application processing; therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
28 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
29 we congratulate Sue Hanson for her years of dedicated service
30 as Lake Villa Township Clerk and Supervisor and wish her well
31 in all of her future endeavors; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to Sue Hanson as an expression of our esteem.
