1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are honored to recognize significant
4 milestones in the lives of the People of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Dwight Swanson
6 of Geneseo, Illinois celebrated the 80th anniversary of his
7 birth; and
8 WHEREAS, Dwight Swanson was born on December 12, 1920;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, Dwight Swanson served in the United States Air
11 Force in 1942 where he was shot down over Munich, Germany and
12 became a POW; he escaped from the Germans through France and
13 was immediately flown to the Pentagon; and
14 WHEREAS, Dwight Swanson married his wife, Nadine, in
15 1943; he became a professional dancer in high school and
16 along with his wife, danced in many competitions including
17 the Aragone Ballroom in Chicago; and
18 WHEREAS, In 1945, Dwight Swanson became a farmer, an
19 occupation that he continues to do today; he farms over 480
20 acres of corn, timber and beans and raises stock cows with
21 his daughter, Tamra; he has also been in the real estate
22 business for the past 38 years; and
23 WHEREAS, Dwight Swanson is the proud father of daughters,
24 Melody, Candace and Tamra; and a dear friend to many;
25 therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we congratulate Dwight Swanson on the occasion of his 80th
29 birthday and extend to him our sincere best wishes for the
30 future; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to Dwight Swanson as an expression of our respect
3 and esteem.
