1 AN ACT concerning animal cremation services.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended
5 by adding Section 22.49 as follows:
6 (415 ILCS 5/22.49 new)
7 Sec. 22.49. Animal cremation. Unless subject to the
8 requirements of Title XV of this Act as potentially
9 infectious medical waste, a deceased companion animal, as
10 defined in the Companion Animal Cremation Act, that is
11 delivered to a provider of companion animal cremation
12 services subject to the Companion Animal Cremation Act is not
13 waste for the purposes of this Act. Providing companion
14 animal cremation services at a location does not make that
15 location a waste management facility for the purposes of this
16 Act.
