92_HB6054 LRB9215058JMcs 1 AN ACT concerning political contributions. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing 5 Section 9-25 as follows: 6 (10 ILCS 5/9-25) (from Ch. 46, par. 9-25) 7 Sec. 9-25. Prohibited contributions. 8 (a) No person shall make an anonymous contribution or a 9 contribution in the name of another person, and no person 10 shall knowingly accept any anonymous contribution or 11 contribution made by one person in the name of another 12 person. 13 (b) No person may solicit any full-time or part-time 14 State employee for a contribution to a political committee of 15 a General Assembly member, a statewide executive branch 16 constitutional officer, or a candidate for the General 17 Assembly or a statewide executive branch constitutional 18 office. As used in this subsection, "statewide executive 19 branch constitutional officer" and "statewide executive 20 branch constitutional office" mean the Governor, Lieutenant 21 Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State 22 Treasurer, and State Comptroller. 23 (c)AnonymousContributions made in violation of this 24 Section shall escheat to the State of Illinois. Any political 25 committee that receives such a contribution shall forward it 26 immediately to the State Treasurer. 27 (Source: P.A. 78-1183.) 28 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 29 becoming law.
