1 AN ACT in relation to public safety.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Elevator Installation Act is amended by
5 changing Section 8 as follows:
6 (430 ILCS 80/8) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 4008)
7 Sec. 8. Application of Act. This Act shall apply to
8 elevators in office, hotel, and factory buildings and all
9 buildings used for residential occupancy in whole or in part
10 where the vertical travel from the main floor to the top
11 terminal floor is 80 feet or over, or to elevators in
12 hospitals where the vertical travel from the main floor to
13 the top terminal floor is 55 feet or over.
