1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5780
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 5780 on page 1,
3 line 14, after "If", by inserting ", within 10 days after the
4 plans and specifications have been received by the regional
5 superintendent of schools and prior to the bidding process,
6 (i)"; and
7 on page 1, line 14, by replacing "and" with "or"; and
8 on page 1, line 17, by replacing "if" with "(ii)"; and
9 on page 1, line 18, after "that", by inserting "any of"; and
10 on page 1, lines 26 and 27, by replacing "in a timely manner
11 as determined by administrative rule" with "within 15
12 business days after a copy of the plans and specifications
13 has been received by the local inspectors"; and
14 on page 1, line 30, by replacing "The local" with the
15 following:
16 "If the local inspectors or certified inspector wish to
17 inspect the actual school construction or alteration, the
18 local inspectors or certified inspector must set up an
19 initial pre-construction meeting with the regional
20 superintendent of schools, outlining the inspection schedule
21 and construction reviews. The regional superintendent of

1 schools shall then notify the school district. The local
2 inspectors or certified inspector shall respond to the
3 regional superintendent of schools with any comments at the
4 completion of each inspection. With respect to the provisions
5 of this Section concerning the review of the plans and
6 specifications and the inspection of the actual school
7 construction or alteration, in the case of Cook County,
8 references to the regional superintendent of schools shall be
9 deemed to refer to the intermediate service center for the
10 school district."; and
11 on page 1, by deleting line 31; and
12 on page 2, by deleting lines 1 through 4; and
13 on page 2, line 5, by deleting "rule.".
