1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5530
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 5530 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT in relation to education."; and
5 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
6 following:
7 "Section 5. The Midwestern Higher Education Compact Act
8 is amended by adding Section 2b as follows:
9 (45 ILCS 155/2b new)
10 Sec. 2b. Continuation of participation in the Midwestern
11 Higher Education Commission.
12 (a) The State's participation in the Midwestern Higher
13 Education Commission, an interstate body created under the
14 Midwestern Higher Education Compact, shall continue without
15 interruption as provided for in this Act, notwithstanding the
16 provisions of Executive Order Number 3 of 2002.
17 (b) This Section is intended to supersede and nullify
18 the provisions of subdivision II, item Y, of Executive Order
19 Number 3 of 2002.
20 Section 10. The Illinois Summer School for the Arts Act

1 is amended by adding Section 1.5 as follows:
2 (105 ILCS 310/1.5 new)
3 Sec. 1.5. Continuation of the Illinois Summer School for
4 the Arts.
5 (a) The Illinois Summer School for the Arts and its
6 Board of Trustees, established under this Act, shall continue
7 without interruption as provided for in this Act,
8 notwithstanding the provisions of Executive Order Number 3 of
9 2002.
10 (b) This Section is intended to supersede and nullify
11 the provisions of subdivision II, item E, of Executive Order
12 Number 3 of 2002.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14 becoming law.".
