 1        AN ACT concerning inspections.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.   The  Meat  and  Poultry  Inspection  Act  is
 5    amended by changing Section 8 as follows:

 6        (225 ILCS 650/8) (from Ch. 56 1/2, par. 308)
 7        Sec.  8.  Medical  Certificate.  The licensee of a Type I
 8    establishment  must  shall  require  all  employees  in   his
 9    establishment  to meet the health requirements established by
10    the Illinois Department of Public Health. The Director may at
11    any time require an employee of an establishment to submit to
12    a health examination by a physician. No person suffering from
13    any communicable disease,  including  any  communicable  skin
14    disease,  and  no  person with infected wounds, and no person
15    who is a "carrier" of a communicable disease  shall  work  in
16    any  capacity in an establishment. No person shall work or be
17    employed in or about any establishment  during  the  time  in
18    which a communicable disease exists in the home in which such
19    person  resides unless such person has obtained a certificate
20    from the state or local health authority to the  effect  that
21    no danger of public contagion or infection or adulteration of
22    product  will  result  from  the employment of such person in
23    such establishment.
