1 AN ACT concerning State funds.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5 Freedom to Be a Patriot Act.
6 Section 5. Definitions. As used in this Act:
7 "Patriotic display" means a display intended to inspire
8 patriotic feelings about the United States and includes any
9 display of the flag of the United States in accordance with
10 federal law or regulation.
11 "State funds" means funds within the control of the
12 government of the State of Illinois derived from any source,
13 including but not limited to taxpayer revenues and the
14 federal funds.
15 Section 10. Transfer of State funds. State funds may not
16 be transferred to any individual or entity that prohibits the
17 patriotic display of the flag of the United States in public
18 places or areas. State funds may not be transferred to any
19 individual or entity that the State has reason to believe may
20 subsequently transfer all or any portion of the funds to an
21 individual or entity that prohibits the patriotic display of
22 the flag of the United States in public places or areas.
